Urbanears Plattan Headphones – Grape : Best headphones I have ever had–

I bought these headphones over three years ago and use them frequently, no signs of wear and tear, great sound quality.

Second pair of these headphones i’ve bought, one for home and one for the office. Great sound (i’m no audiophile, but its certainly a decent sound for the price) nice build quality, the removable (and side-swappable) 3. 5′ cable is really good quality, and the fact that it folds up means it can take up less space in a bag, and also survive a bit betteralso, a bonus is that you can ‘daisy chain’ another pair of headphones into the spare 3. 5′ jack female port if you aren’t using it. You can plug in whichever side you want, and daisy chain into the other. Great for traveling couples. Being able to swap the input 3. 5 is great if you are using these at a computer as you don’t want the cable dangling over your mouse hand.

These headphones are great, the bass is great and the overall sound quality is great and it has a mic and the quality on that is really good too and i like the whole design of the product and the color and it doesn’t have logo’s all of it which is good so it’s less chance of someone stealing it from you and it folds up nice and compact so you can store it away or carry it.

I purchased these headphones for the second time last year after the first pair broke and got a refund earlier this year the second pair plattan of headphones i had bought broke too due to the connection being lost in one side of the headphones like the first pair after i had barely used them at all. I love the design of these headphones i think they are super fashionable but the quality seems to be compromised which is disappointing. Although i have seen a fair amount of reviews from people that rate them highly and have been great for them so maybe i was just unlucky , in terms of comfort i would say they are comfy up until about no longer than 2 hours maybe then they can start to hurt a bit but i would say thats the same for most headphones.

The best thing about these is the single wire attached to the left phone only- i can’t stand wires getting in the way when i run. They are super comfy with soft ear covers and a lovely head part which sits nice and snug on your head- you forget you are wearing them. The sound is good- i find it clear, smooth with good bass- the added extra is that the left phone has an extra socket for someone else to plug in their phones so you can say ‘listen to this’. And they can just plug in and listen. They also look fab in my fave color purple- so what’s not to love really?. Oh yes and a price which far surpassed the cost of gimmicky branded phones-.

Urbanears Plattan Headphones – Grape : Would recommend highlygood quality build and sound. Had these for years until i left them in a crappy hotel in france. But best investment i have had. Lasted so long being chucked around by a teenager. Only thing is the top band is only plastic or something (inside for the rigidity) and will get slightly dented on the edges if you have it in your bag with heavy textbooks and throw the bag around. But still wearable just a little loss in aesthetics.

Considering the price range of these headphones, they are excellent. Please don’t spend over £100 on beats headphones when these are just as good, and look better. You can choose from lots of colours which i love and the sound quality is great. These headphones are superb for blocking out sounds around you and really focuses on the music. Very impressed, this pair is the second i have bought – and is a gift for a family member.

Nice looking, nice sounding headphones. My only gripes would be the short cable – i have mine on my imac, without a headphone extension lead i would have to work about an inch from my screen. They are also a bit tight and get a bit uncomfortable after a few hours.

This is a lovely set of headphones, they seem to retain a high proportion of the music that the teenager is listening too. Her friends on seeing them decided to purchase them too and before long a heap of teenagers where wandering around with a variety of interesting coloured urbanears.

Great headphones for the money – i reckon the plattans are the best headphones for less than fifty quid i’ve tried; plus they are good looking and hard wearing as well. Ive tried other sennheiser and akg models around the same price points and would pick these every time – especially as they have been so hard wearing for me. Other big plus point is the fabric-covered cord; it sounds like such as minor thing but removes a lot of the day to day annoyances. The fabric covering means its pretty hard to tangle and knot the cables on these unlike a lot of other headphones, as well as keeping them from sticking to clothes during day-day use. Only small downside – if you have a big head like i do, they can be a little tight so just stretch them out for a few hours around a shoebox or similar before using to let them ease off a bit. I’ve had my black pair (urbanears plattan on-ear headphone – black) for a few years now and they’ve held up really well, so i bought the white set as a gift; and would definitely buy another set if anything happened to mine.

I got this urbanears last year after i’ve seen it at sense8. They are really good for pop and electronic, not that good for rock.

The sound quality is good and i like the in built in splitter. However the fabric on the head band picks up dirt really easily and they are very uncomfortable on my ears. The jack cable is also a little short for desktop applications.

I was not sure wether to get these headphones when looking as there were some poor reviews on amazon but i really liked the blue colour i tried them at tesco, they were a really good fit & sounded great i would love the bose ones but could not justify the price so i got these from amazon. Just used them on hols for a week on the plane they were great, fit snug, sounded good used all week by the pool looked good too i cannot fault them had no problems at all + on the left ear cone you can plug another set of headphones in so when watching the movie on my ipad on the plane we only needed one plug into pad my wife just pluged into my left cone less wire tangle really good headphones give them a try.

Bought two pairs of these, one for my niece and one for me. Sound quality is good although if your traveling in an aeroplane you still get rather alot of background noise. Also, as they are ‘on ear’ headphones i found my ears began to hurt after an hour or so (and i don’t have ears like prince charles either). All in all a good set of cans for the price with good sound quality. I would recommend over ear headphones if you want to avoid earache.

My friend was in the pub showing me a song and had these, i decided to get a pair myself after i noticed a couple of things i liked about them. The main thing for me is that they stay on your head pretty well without slipping off. I had a pair of skullcandy lowriders which are not the best (built quality, sound or ergonomics) but they kept slipping off while i was at the gym lying down on some of the benches. These on the other hand stay on even when i am using the decline bench, basically, they’ll stay on your head even if you’re upside down all while not being too tight. They’re relatively comfy to keep on for long periods of time, you do get that weird ache on your ears when you take them off after like 4 or 5 hours but you get that with any headphones and these are pretty comfy as they’re not too heavy either, i use them for skype all the time too. One thing worth noting before condemning these in a review or even just after buying them is that they sound quite different to most headphones. They seem to have a lot more bass and more mid range frequencies too. When you try them out for the first time just be sure to use the equalizer on your device or computer’s media player. I’d recommend going for something with the bass frequencies on a medium setting, mids lowered considerably and treble raised significantly, just try and work out a balance and they’ll be just fine, but they most likely won’t sound that good to anybody who doesn’t eq their music and leaves all the sliders on neutral. I’ve had them for a month and a bit now and they haven’t shown any sign of damage even after daily use so they seem to be holding up okay.

I am very happy with these headphones, one of my favourite things is that they are pretty nondescript so i’m not a walking advert, however i wouldn’t mind advertising these to be honest, i’ve recommended them to my friends. I haven’t had any problems with sound cutting out as some other reviewers commented on, it may happen after a time i suppose but so far the sound quality is fantastic. They felt a bit tight at first but that has got better as they’ve loosened up and i’ve got used to them. I wear glasses which is uncomfortable unless i raise the arms above the pads which i don’t mind doing but it’s something to keep in mind when choosing which type to get. The only grumble i have is that they’re described as indigo but i would call it green.

If you want something that sounds great and looks good but don’t want to spend a lot of money for it, then this is really perfect. It’s compact and folds away so it’s really easy to carry it around when it’s not in use, looks good around the neck too. For the price, the quality is really good.

Bought this product with the recommendation from a friend of a great pair of headphones and was not disappointed. The design is great; as a person who is on the move quite a lot they compact down really simply and into a shape that will protect the actual ear cover. The cord is fabricated and does not tangle compared to the ordinary wires, also does not look out of place and hangs nicely when loose. The headband is not hard plastic and so i could happily wear these for hours on end. The overall design and finish is superb- practical and stylishsound wise- i listen to a variety of genre’s of music and these headphones do each justice. Crisp and clear with a good bass line. Also sound cancelling for the listener and the passer-by (top volume maybe not so much)not as expensive as most headphones but certainly worth paying that little bit more compared to the cheaper brands.

The noise my sister made opening these headphones on christmas morning is like nothing i’ve ever heard. I’d describe it as painfully happy. Look great, built great, sound okay. More style over substance, not my thing, but still better than the cheapo ‘stylish’ sony rubbish everyone insists on buying for some reason.

Found these headphones while i was out one day and was immediately drawn in by the minimalist design, and being able to choose from an array of colours. This is definitely a huge upside, as it allows you to pick a pair that best suits you. Almost gives then a personal touch. Not only do i love the choices of colours available, but they sound fantastic tooif you’re looking for a great pair of headphones, for a very great price, the plattans are the way to gograb a pair now.

The sound quality on these headphones is great, good reproduction of pretty much any type of media, including spoken word and podcasts. The mic works very nicely, and i’ve never had complaints from people i’ve called about sound quality, even in high winds. The only down sides are that after just under two years the cable has frayed to the point of disintegration where it connects to the audio jack. I would have hoped for a more durable product, as £40 is a lot of money to fork out for a pair of headphones. Also the ‘bins’ do become uncomfortable after wearing for an extended period of time.

Inspired by my son to get these. For those people who can’t get on with in ear headphones these are perfect. The sound quality is superior and i do not disturb fellow travellers. They fold up neatly for easy storage and i love the choice of colours. Only problem is my son has asked me not to sit next to him in public as not cool to have your mother wearing the same headphones.

I bought these headphones for my daughter and she absolutely loved it.
Going for my second set, only because i lost the first pair (and subsequently found again). Short and simple addressing the points made before –i wear glasses and after an extended time of 2-3 hours i find they can get a little uncomfortable, but i honestly don’t find it a big issue. To me they are snug and secure on my head. – i’m no sound engineer, but i find the sound quality decent at this price point, do the job perfectly well for me listening a wide variety of genres of music as well as for listening to podcasts/audio books. I don’t find i have major issues with the bass, and there are evidently fixes to any minor issues if you read the previous reviews. – in terms of taking calls i found the call quality good on my iphone, with the in line remote operating well and otherwise the call is hands free, as in you don’t need to move the speaker to your mouth or anything like that. – the remote is simple but works well. – the looks are, as said previously, simple, slightly retro, with bright colours and with a nice feel and sturdy build. My first pair are battered and scratched but only because i am very tough on my things. They are otherwise functioning and usable without issue.

These are very good headphones. Keep out external sound but also keep your sound in. Perfect so people don’t stare at you on the train into work. Also have a microphone for conference calls. Very high quality for the price. The others got a bit dirty & i didn’t think they looked professional for work any more, so now they’re my decorating headphones.

I love love love these headphones. So much so that i have bought them again when my first pair got broken. If you are like me and have a little head then these guys are fab. I know the trend is to have massive ones, make a statement, but thanks to all the gorgeous colours you can get in these trust me it’ll make enough of a statement (if you’re that way inclined). I have had lots of people stopping me on my various commutes and asking me where i got them. The actual pads on the ear pieces are compfy as i have various piercings on both my ears and they do not impeed on these at all. The sound is great for the price the only downside is if you do have them very very loud other people can hear them but alas they’re not noise cancelling headphones, and medium volume is enough for me anyway. (works a treat at booking out the sounds of your fellow commuters). They are a great device and so easily packed away in your bag.

The box containing the headphones looked like it had come off the shelf as it was scratched, dusty and the security tabs were open, not ideal as it’s a gift. However the contents looked new and on testing, the sound quality, although not top-end, is a huge improvement on what my daughter is currently listening too. Plus she’ll love the colour.

Decent headphones that are not too expensive. Unfortunately, i am the type to get headaches from wearing headphones and these do not prevent that. They are not the most comfortable to wear. However, the sound quality is decent when used as a casually.

Got them for my partner for her running sessions after few uses she is very satisfied with the quality.

I’ve now owned 4 pairs of urbanears headphones, and every single one has developed a connection fault at the headphone jack, meaning sound only comes through one ear of the headphones. None of the 4 pairs i’ve owned have lasted more than 8 months. This is definitely the last time i buy a pair of these.

I love the product and super cheap however white gets dirty and scuffed really easily so perhaps opt for a different colour.

Great headphones – good quality sound and comfy fit. I like the fact that you can swap the side of the cable. And the colour is stunning (i bought mulberry). I wish it had come with a pouch of some kind though.

They sound great and are really comfortable. I bought them to wear while flying and i am confident they will block out background noise.

No microphone so you can’t use as phone headphones and shockingly no volume control on the cord. I’ve lost them, which is a shame, but will look to buy a different pair next for this reason.

I’m totally blown away by the bang for the buck you get with those. I picked them up in town where they were on sale. I won’t mention the price, all i can say it was ridiculous (in the positive sense). Clearly, they were clearing their shelves. Sound:+ overall sound+ balance+ pretty damn good noise insulation for on-ears- bit bright & a little too much bass, lacking in the midssound verdict:there are better alternatives out there if you are really into guitar solos (like myself but the urban ears are my second pair). Bear in mind i really liked the sound so this is very much nitpicking and i’m spoiled by my main headphones the akg k240 mkii which are really neutral and have very detailed mids, but were also also 4x the price of these when i bought them. Built quality & comfort:+ feel adequately sturdy+ braided cable+ very comfortable+ good adjustability- all plastic (but hey so are beats and they are a lot more expensive)- no cable lockfeatures:+ replaceable cable+ headphone jacks on both sides+ remote on cable+ foldable+ simple but cool designtl;drgood sound for the money but they ultimately follow the trend of boosted bass and highs and turned down mids. But that’s ok for headphones that are designed to be your best companion on the go. They are very comfortable and well built.
