Only had these a few days but pleased with them, connected to the optical output of my bt vision box which lets me still use the sound on the tv at the same time if need be. I had no problems connecting them up and everything worked straight away, comfortable to wear and the range seems good, the only thing is i find them lacking slightly in the bass end.
Far better than i expected, plugged sraight into my tivo box via optical out,and watched a film in dolby digital,it was nearly as good as a full 5. 1 set up,also headset is very comforable to wear for hours. I can realy recomend this product.

Unfortunately, at twice the price of the sony mdr rf 865, these headphones are not as good as the sony mdr rf 865. I bought them hoping they would be a lot better than the sony mdr rf 865. I tried to use them on my digital piano, but there is a delay in the response, which is no good if you are trying to play a piece of music. The delay is only small but it is enough to have a bad effect on my playing. Maybe if they are only used for listening to just continuous music, they maybe ok.
These are very substantial headphones and consequently quite heavy on the head. The sound quality is superb without a crackle or hiss (unlike my previous set which annoyed me greatly). In practice the range is approx 25-30 feet in my lounge. The sound breaks-up when i go upstairs or opposite end of the house. These are very minor gripes i still give 5*s for quality, ease of use, functionality, aesthetics and lack of background noise. I haven’t tested the unit for battery longevity as they work fine for listening to a couple of films then returning to the cradle to be recharged.
Only minor niggle is they are quite warm to wear. A 2 hour movie is about all i can take.
Sony MDRDS6500.CEK Digital Surround Headphones : Fantastic headphones, shame the volume control is so flush makes it a bit hard to adjust, apart from that i love them.
Absolutely great quality, have them hooked up to my sound card via optical and the clarity is amazing.
Short review to cover a couple of things that i struggled to find: firstly these cans are excellent for those of us with larger heads. Plenty of adjustment and the cups are slanted internal design allowing your ears to comfortable sit within then with no pressure on your ear cartilage. Secondly i have two wifi networks on 2. 4 ghz band in my house and i put one on channel 11 and the other on channel one, i get no interference whatsoever and i also have a dect phone in the same room. Finally build quality is great and the charging stand is also easy to slot on and off throughout the day. Great buy, highly recommended.
They’re big but comfortable. Maximum sound was quite low (for me. ), but i bought a compatible sound card and wow. I can now watch movies in total quality sound & volume without annoying my neighbours.
Expensive but got all the things that make life so much easier, now i’m not deafened by the loudness and my partner doesn’t need text on the telly so hear can understand what’s going on, comfortable headphones.
Comfortable to wear, easy to install and use. I happily recommend these phones.
I tried a number of wireless headphones in the last few years and these are by far the best. Very comfortable, excellent sound, very well made (unlike my previous sennheiser whose controls on the headphones failed after a couple of years). Expensive, yes, but i do a fair amount of transcribing and listening via pc as part of my work and it seems that you do get what you pay for with these things. I’ve docked a star because the range is not the 100 meters claimed. Works just fine throughout the house but i was hoping it would extend to the garden but it drops out after 30 meters from the house although that’s through a cavity wall to be fair. It ought to be stated what the conditions are when claiming range distances. However that’s a minor quibble for me so i’m very pleased overall and would recommend these to anyone deliberating.
Only been using for a short period of time however i have found them to do the job. Good build and comfortable to wear. Optical cable that comes with them looks really flimsy but it works well. My 3d player has a digital audio out (coaxial) but was able to buy a digital/optical converter online from maplins for £6 including postage. I just used an old audio lead i had lying around to connect adapter to player and it works fine.
Product quality service excellence.
Easy to set up with the digital connection, although i need to sort out a digital switch so i can use them with a sky box and apple tv too.
Extremely high quality sound, without the hinderence of wires.
I love these headphones, i have two sets and both are fantastic. The sound is quite sublime as you would expect from sony.
Amazing sound watched all my dvd collection sound is very loud and balance although would liked more bass on them but dolby digital and dts sounds amazing. They charge on the stand and last forever great for listening to the radio around the house have a few drop outs in the garden. Overall if you want good surround sound headphones i would recommends these.
Been using this for a while now – it’s great – no noise or distortion.
Brilliant sound on the xbox 360. Really good sound for everyday tv, zero interference from other headphone signals and no electrical noise, hopefully should last 5 years of daily 4 hour use like my last set of mid range sony headphones.
The 3d is so powerful i sometimes doubt am putting on headphones .
I’d been having issues with my old analogue headphones since upgrading to skyq. There is only an optical output now, so i’d tried a couple of dacs so i didn’t have to ‘bite the bullet’ but to no avail. Having read a few reviews, these were the only set that i could find would definitely work with an optical out, and it works brilliantly. There are loads of settings so you can tailor to your audio preference, they’re comfortable and look smart. The sound quality is great, especially the virtual surround sound. The range is the only thing that is disappointing compared to my old set, i get drop out in the kitchen now where i didn’t before, it’s only roughly 12 metres away from the transmission hub. Overall, great value for money, you won’t be disappointed.
