Sennheiser HD 600 Audiophile Quality, One of best set of headphones ever!

I have a pair of pairs of relatively fantastic quality headphones in their personal ideal, but when i hear to these, my god i can convey to the difference. The clarity is startling in comparison to something else i own and though i are not able to profess to staying an audiophile the dynamic array and copy is exceptional. The truth they are open-ear presents a totally distinctive listening practical experience in comparison to closed-ear, so i advise striving the two styles in advance of purchasing if you’re not absolutely sure. These headphones are also not excellent if you pay attention in a community area or with other people you will not want to distract.

Several manufacturers amaze me as sennheiser. Small plastic, cloth and metallic and you bought oneself a. Nicely not everybody gets it correct, sennheiser doesover the time sennheiser has put a great deal of money into r&d and this product or service shines, hd650 is an old style that has stood the test of time, high-quality piece of engineering. When i very first heard this cans i was astonished how straightforward and in-depth they ended up as a result of the frequency assortment. Some people might not in fact like that and that is fantastic, i also occasionally arrive at for some a lot more exciting headphones but i normally hold coming back to hd650.

My intro into hi-fi seem, was blessed to get them for a offer price tag but would not complain about spending comprehensive cost for these, i believe they are truly worth it. As i keep including entry hi-fi headphones to my collection (momentum one, sony mdr-1a, dt770, fidellio x2, t20rp mk3), none of them can stand up to these in facet by side listening, it can be really shocking to me as i was expecting some of the some others i’ve experimented with to most effective them in at minimum 1 region. For me, these just offer you a punchier, clearer mid-assortment, fewer veiled (ironically), comprehensive seem that someway manages to not be sibilant at all. The weakness you browse about is the bass, it is correct it lacks sub-bass heft but it really is however current (just) and mid-bass incredibly specific which is fantastic for resolving bass guitar in tracks and general bass ‘texture’ even in digital songs. To begin with i was making use of the smsl m6 which was great, have because transition to the audio gd nfb-eleven-28 which brings out the very best in the bass and clarity and provides a sound foundation to run these from and review to many others. They’re not that tough to generate, the 300ohm rating appears to be in the beginning off putting but it is not as bad as it seems to be, 250ohm dt770s require additional electric power for the very same listening amounts.

I use these headphones from my macbook pro retina 2014, 15′ and they sound wonderful. People are not exaggerating when they say that you notice a lot more depth when utilizing these headphones than other headphones. They are neutral sounding, and are not as ‘fun’ as other headphones these types of as the hd598s which i have also bought. The ear cups get a small dusty with time, and clamp instead tightly on your head. The audio is perfect, but i want to see how considerably much better it will get with an amp. Edit:soon after 4 months of using these i can say i actually appreciate these headphones. It does get a although for you to get applied to the sound. The clamping pressure has weakened a bit, and immediately after a number of months of everyday put on and tear the velour pads do not accumulate as a lot dust as they made use of to.

I upgraded from senn hd520mk2 which have been quite superior for £90 and i preferred them a large amount. These are even superior, terrific when the burning-in period of time is above. I agree with the a lot of reviewers who say they listen to new appears in their audio. The starting transients are solid and clear, for that reason the devices on their own audio alive. Also spatial separation of sounds turns into considerably improved defined for the exact same motive. There is a lot of distinct bass and, to my ears, no ‘veil’ in the treble. Issues is, now i know just how fantastic audiophile ‘phones are for taking part in nicely-recorded cd’s/ telly / radio, i am eager to listen to some very costly ‘phones.

Sennheiser HD 600 Audiophile Quality, Open Hi-Fi stereo Headphones : Many reviews have been written about this headphone. Just google “hd650 review” and you will get more result than with any other headphone ever made. I know this; it makes no sense to write yet another review, a drop in the ocean. And yet i still can’t resist the urge to write a praise of my own. But it is not my aim to describe exactly how awesome the sound of this thing is. Many have done this before me. Just consider this: people are much more likely to review things they like. The sheer number of reviews written on this headphone speaks for itself. Let me just tell you: i am not rich and investing this much money in a headphone was a big decision for me. But i may have never spent money better than with this buy.

These have made me stop obsessing about the merits of different headphones and just start listening to music again. And i can think of no greater compliment than that. They take themselves out of the equation and make you connect straight to the music and that’s exactly what headphones are supposed to do. I couldn’t care less if these were painted pink and made me look like an african elephant – you forget about them and what they sound like and just enjoy the music. I thought they might be ‘analytical’ and that i’d have them just to use on occasion where i picture myself as a critical jazz and classical reviewer while stroking my chin, but actually these have ended up making me take up air instruments while listening to tracks. I thought the soundstage might be closed in and yes it is but it’s like every instrument is perfectly separated and placed inside your head as though you’re sitting in a room and the musicians are playing all around you. Isn’t that what we all want from headphones.

I’ve tried fidelio x2s, k712s and these blew both of them out of the water in terms of sound and comfort. A plus was the packing was amazing.

Fantastic sound, i have bose noise cancelling headphones too, these are different, providing an open airy feel with detailed sound across the whole spectrum. If you don’t need the noise cancelling go for these.

So good that they make my recordings sound better than they are.
Build quality maybe a little lacking for this price point, everything is very plasticy feeling and minor creaks adjusting.

So i bought hd600 here on amazon over 5 yrs ago now. Since then i had a chance to listen to probably all high-end mode such as audeze lcd-2,3,4,x, beyerdynamics t1, hifiman he6, all different stax models, sennheiser hd650, hd700, hd700, and even he60 and he90 and you know what?. If my hd600 would break right now, i would order them again. Paired with odac and o2 amp, these are the most well balanced headphones i’ve ever heard. Sound aside, in the past 5 years of using these headphones few hours a day every day, i had to replace earpads twice, headband pads once, and cable once (got hd650 one because it’s more durable). Anyway, if you are looking for a balanced sound, you will find it here. If you want to tweak your sound with tube amps or other audio gear, hd600 are a great starting point.

After trying several pairs of headphones i arrived at these and wish i’d gone straight here in the first place. It should be noted that despite all the reviews saying otherwise you do not require an amplifier to power these. They work very well through my hi-fi and fine through my mp3 player and i-pod. The sound quality is superb. An improvement on the already excellent hd598 sr.

My intro into hi-fi sound, was lucky to get them for a deal price but wouldn’t complain about paying full price for these, i think they’re worth it. As i keep adding entry hi-fi headphones to my collection (momentum 1, sony mdr-1a, dt770, fidellio x2, t20rp mk3), none of them can stand up to these in side by side listening, it’s quite surprising to me as i was expecting some of the others i’ve tried to best them in at least one area. Initially i was using the smsl m6 which was good, have since transition to the audio gd nfb-11-28 which brings out the best in the bass and clarity and provides a solid basis to run these from and compare to others. They’re not that hard to drive, the 300ohm rating seems initially off putting but it’s not as bad as it looks, 250ohm dt770s require more power for the same listening levels.

Absolutely the best headphones i’ve ever used, incredible sound quality and clarity, i’m glad i didn’t go for the 650’s as these have plenty of bass for me. The only possible complaint i would have is that the clamping force is too tight, but even after a few days it seems to be looser.

I bought the hd600 because i wanted some open-back headphones to listen to classical music on. The reviews promised a lot and i wasn’t disappointed and they are everything i hoped they would be. Not really recommended for bass-heads but with their light touch they excel with acoustic, chamber music and orchestra.

As we know hp are subjective to ones listening taste. Wanted a pair that were not too clinical and flat, last thing i wanted was to come home after a hard day and start an analytical listening session. Went through a lot of pairs before these ranging from senny rs165 blutooth, a pair of sony mdr1 and another sony blutooth , audio technica msr 7 which were good but occasionaly peaked the higher frequencies too much for me at my age 40+, set of grados (couldn’t justify the price). All these fell short apart from the sennheiser hd650’s which gave the best return on cost comfort and my listening signature. I did end up comparing these to a set of audio technica m50x’s and you may laugh but for me there were many similarities with the sound signature even though right off hand i will state these are in another league compared to the m50x’s depending on your music and listening signature. You will find the review for the at m50x’s here aswell as ive posted this review for the m50x’s also. Let me start by saying for me the m50x are an excellent set of cans that hold the frequencies with integrity. Tops never peaked and sounded harsh, mids were separated and slightly pronounced and never sounded muffled once, and the lows are tight and controlled but ever so slightly pronounced for a more warm sounding experience exactly what i was wanting. A run of yanni rainmaker and estas tonne the song of the golden dragon shone on these with a good soundstage but not as expansive as the hd650’s, one was able to distinguish the instruments and the vocals more on the hd650’s especially from the senorita in the rainmaker which was nothing short of sublime and more of an epic journey to the heavens and back on the 650’s.

Simply stunning, have to be used with a decent dedicated headphone amp but worrh every penny. If you have to use the adapter get yourself the hd650 replacement cable because it makes a big difference in sound quality and is physically more substantial.

Good balanced sound signature not much soundstage. The speckled colour is horrible the whole look is kinda low budget the cable looks cheap. They are light and don’t clamp to hard on my medium sized head.

I am no stranger to headphones and currently own a pr of ath-m50’s (4 yrs, very good), pr of hdr180’s(2 yrs, not so good sound but good for wireless and gives good range). I also have an amazing and very expensive jbl lsr 4300 professional monitoring setup. I am not trying to establish myself as an audio expert but i do know what my ears tell me. There are a lot of mixed reviews about the hd650 and i understand why, naturally we expect deliverance relative to the purchase price (this is a premium product at a premium price), and so perhaps there is not always the appreciation that there is no such thing as a perfect headphone. The problem, they can’t possibly be everything to all people and music (or the interpretation of music) is highly subjective. So, what do you want to do with these?. If you are planning to use for listening and musical pleasure then dependent on your genre tastes, you may find a quality headphone that is more tailored to that type of sound. Especially if you are listening to compressed audio (mp3 etc). Whilst a headphone like the 650 will likely make your mp3’s sound great, why would you spend this sort of money, really no point.

In the age hype, there are very few products which can survive and perhaps even thrive. Sennheiser’s hd650 is one such headphone. Legendary and deserving of all the praise heaped on them. Muted in appearance, innocuos even. These amazing set of headphones are all about the tuning. The sound is not in your face aggressive as is fashionable nowadays. Treble doesn’t have the bleeding bite, bass doesn’t have the thunderous boom. . So what is so special about the hd 650 if by those descriptors they sound , well , quite frankly boring. It’s the way sennheiser have made the mids so damn glorious, both ends of the frequency spectrum compliment the mids, which is a rare treat.

The perfect monitoring headphones. If your a sound engineer, music producer or enjoy a neutral tone, these headphones do not lie. Yes, you can buy more colourful/exciting sounding headphones but these aren’t intended for that purpose. The hd600’s are a decent alternative to not having access to adequate monitor speakers (with good room treatment). *note: they do need/benefit from having a dedicated headphone amp.

Wonderful headphones, using mainly for gaming, hard to drive. I used the smsl m6 dac/amp combo to have nice in and outs connections. Quality and build is very good, only bad thin g is the cable splits and has proprietary plugs on the headphone end.

The most comfortable headphones i have ever worn. Use these for music mixing and mastering on my saffire pro 24 dsp audio interface. I can, and have, worn these for hours without the need to take them off to rest my ears. These were an expensive buy, but absolutely no regrets.

Quite dark sounding head phones- users with older ears and lost treble may prefer akg. Very refined, smooth, luxurious sounding. I would not describe these as in any way flat or neutral or reference. However what they do, they di very nicely. Makes for a very comfortable headphone for extended listening, with good bass at even low volumes. Overpriced imo- if they were £150 i would give 4 stars. Build quality is plastically. If you want an accurate headphone, particularly for classical music, i would suggest the akg k701 out performs these considerably.

Night and day from traditional gaming headsets. Very comfortable to wear for even days of heavy gaming. Lack of a mic is easily solved with the antlion audio modmic 5 which is in itself an amazing microphone with a clarity i’ve never witnessed before. Pair these two with a sennheiser gsx 1200 pro and you can almost hear god speaking to you. Most heartily recommended for any audio endeavor. Even without the amp it’s a fantastic set which will have you turning your head to check that the sound really came from the headset, it’s that good.

Bought to replace my dt100s, which still work. This has a much better sound and when i’m working on a mix allows a good deal more detail to be heard. Having a small boy means that i don’t get to turn the monitors up as often as i’d like so these work really well for me.

Excellent headphones in terms of sound quality and overall comfort. Unfortunately the mini 1/8 inch jack lead that it comes with is a bit of a let down as it stopped working/feeding signal to the right channel after only 5 or 6 months. This seems to be an issue with sennheiser as i also have had this problem with the hd25 mark 2. However this is the cheapest part to replace.

I returned these headphones they were not really for me. They are quite plastic, the leads are of poor quality and i feel resentful paying out for replacement leads. The sound was very neutral, but to be honest i think i much prefer my fidelio x2 in terms of sound, comfort, and build quality and overall value for money.
