Really nice headset at a nice price. For the price range i would recommend it, however if you can i think saving up for the 7. Pros:for me personally it is a nice comfortable headset and i still stand by this for the year and a half i have had them but i know the circle ear cub design would not be a good choice for the people who prefer a more egg shaped style cupgood sound quality but not surround (you can use their razer surround software to simulate surround sound and it works pretty well)the mic is retractable which is useful if you want to just use them as your out and about headphones or if you just move around allot which is nice if that’s what you needcons:the mic, the mic on the kraken pro is very annoying as it picks up noises you can hear through your headphones very easily which is very annoying if you use skype or anything similar. I have looked around and asked other people and it seems as though loads of people have this problem but i can’t ever find a fix. It might have something to do with the splitter that is including but im not sure as i don’t have another one to test it. The only other problem i have is with the mic too. It just doesn’t come out far enough. I think the sound quality would improve massively if the microphone would be in front of your mouth when fully extended rather than at your cheek. Both these problems have been fixed in the usb 7.
It’s great quality an all, great for gaming. But it’s just a bit too tight on my nuggin. I don’t even have a massive heed. I’m 5’6′ and my head is kinda egg shapped. It shouldn’t feel this tight. Have to take it off after an hour or two and put my head in warm soapy water. Appart from that, it’s awesome.

Was in need of a new headset for both my pc and xbox as i like to play all sound through a headset. After browsing for a while i surprisingly found the razer product to be the best quality for price value, i have always preferred over the ear head phones for comfort and i can certainly say these are very comfy to wear for long periods of time and the sound quality is brilliant. If you wish to use these on xbox you will need the chat adapter.
Very bass heavy to the point that they begin to leak into the lower mid range however the bass does pack quite a punch with very strong vibrations which run through the ears and around the neck giving a very emersive bass. The highs are very strong but can very occasionally be quite sharp. After listen to several of my favourite genres (dubstep, edm, drum and bass, rap, trap) i decided that the sweet spot is in slower paced trap where the bass is very heavy and the main synth consists of mainly high pitch single beat notes as it complements the pros of these headphones. As for gaming the bass gives a very punchy sound especially when playing fps games. For communications however voices can be a little muffled as the lower mid range is quite overrun by the bass and the higher mid which causes most voices have the lower tones removed. In terms of functionality the fixed cable can be an issue for some but i feel as if it is strong enough to survive most everyday use. They are a rather chunky pair of headphones that, unless you have a smaller head shape, will stick out at the sides meaning that for most these wont be a going out headphones. For those who do/can wear them out the retractable mic is a great feature that allows for the mic to become barely visible without close inspection, however as of yet i have not been able to get the mic to function on my desktop which isn’t really a problem for me as i have a desktop mic however it would of been a nice feature for monitoring the sound recorded by the mic with which would be an incredibly useful feature considering the superb sound isolation the pleather cups combined with the strong clamping force gives. As for comfort at first they are extremely soft with the gentle pleather cups and breathable mesh over the headband however over time the headband can become quite irritable across the top of your head and can require some small adjustments and before correctly worn in the ear cups cause aches around the jaw and ear area (i suggest lightly stretching the headphones by the headband for about 5 minutes before putting them on). Overall i think that if you are looking for a relatively cheap pair of comfortable headphones that pack a very punchy bass with a lot of vibrations then these are the pair for you, however be aware of the headphones issues especially with lower mid tones as this can be quite a turn off for some people.
Got these just today, and the product was a little less to what i expected. Pro’s:- sound quality – pretty good to be honest, music sounds great through them. I’m no expert, but the clarity and depth was definitely there- noise isolation – does that job fairly well thanks to the almost abnormal amount of padding covering the product- looks – sort of iffy to be honest; razer products most always look awesome, but the kraken’s are a little large on the earcups and headband so to say. People say the green pair look like it was bought from a toy store, not my opinion but i can see why- comfort – thanks to the padding provide a fairly comfortable fit, earcups and headband definitely with extortionate cushion. Could see myself wearing on a long haul flightcon’s:- comfort can be argued to become suffocating; the headband feels like it clamps to your head making usage fairly uncomfortable after a while, not helped by the earcups warming your ears to such an extent that you want to take them off- on that note, wearing them around your neck is fairly uncomfortable (unless you have a fairly long neck) if you like to do so as of the incredibly large drivers pressing against your mouth even- it’s a matter of preference whether you like incredibly bulky headphones or not, but as a result weigh your head down, which doesn’t help if you already have pains in your neck at points to start with, and prevents sufficient long term usagei wouldn’t say these headphones are awful, but they aren’t great either in my opinion. I think i was a little more compelled by that luring razer branding that’s so attractive and well designed, which put me into buying headphones which i didn’t actually like. Suggest you think about whether you’re buying for the use or the label before purchase.
Razer Kraken Pro Neon Analog Gaming Headset – Yellow : The razer kraken pro (green) headset is such an amazing headset to buy. I can see why pewdiepie, rooster teeth/ achievement hunter and people like them use them all the time for gaming and editing. Honestly i use these for the bus journeys into college by listening to music on my phone and they give out such an amazing sound quality and they don’t actually ‘leak’ sound that much. What i mean by this is that i can have the headphones at a sorta loud volume and the people around me can hardly hear the music i am listening to. Apart from when i take them off and hang them around my neck. Then people can hear what i am listening to of course. Using these for listening to music, playing games with on consoles and editing videos with them is such an amazing experience as you can really hear every soundworth the £65 i paid for them at christmas time.
I bought these to replace the philips shp2500 headphones id been using for over 10 years. They still worked great, but i felt it was time i desperately needed an upgrade. I am not very tech savvy so after some fiddling about with the settings on my computer i finally got them to work and wow, the quality on these were amazingit felt like id been listening to games half deaf, ive always had my pc on the highest volume but now i never need to surpass 15% and it feels like im in the game itselfthe colour is really the only gripe i have, its not really the bumblebee yellow it is in the picture but more a high vis jacket yellow. I dont really mind, and doesnt take away from its lovely look, just a little deceiving. As for the comfort, most of the time i have been wearing these for hours at a time and they still remain comfortable, to the point i forget im wearing them half the time. The ear cups seem to have a slight suction when you take them off, which i guess is intentional to help iliminate outside noise when on, which it does extremely wellthe mic ive only used once, and was told i sounded quite loud but very clear. However i completely put this down to my own mistakes on setting it up and not moving the mic further away enough from the headset.
Comfortable even when playing all day, mic is good, sound is clear and all in all perfect gaming headset. Only slight irk is there is no way of turning the mic off whilst using the headset so if you have it plugged into a console controller, be prepared for any recording or online game to pick up your breathing, coughing ect.
I’ve seen this asked quite a bit so what is analog??. Analog is where you can plug your headset into a standard headphones port such as your phone or laptop. – this is the circular port holes in which earphones and such go into. Positive:- sound quality is good. I’m kind of used to it now but when i first got them i was like wow this is so good. Comparing them to my other headphones (which were £30) they’re sooo much better on so many levels. It picks up quite a lot though; keystrokes, mouse clicks, people talking in the backgound and most notably my neighbours dog barking. – comfortable ear cups and headband.
With the razer sorround software it works like a 7. 1 headsetit’s awesome when you hear something behind you and it was really coming from behind you. It does not come with a volume button nor a mic (there is the pro version for that, so that’s not a minus). 5 jack extender came with it and it is the best extra i’ve ever receivedso much better than a long cablefor the streets the standard cable length is enough. And when you are using it at home and plug it into a sound system that’s not necceseraly near you, you can use it. It is comfortable and i can use it for a whole a day without any backdraw. (sometimes at weekends i’ve the whole day for myself, meaning 10 am to next day 2 am)has great bass and so far endured the everyday torture that is i’m using it. Bought it at black friday so the price was good, otherwise it would be pricey.
So i’ve had the headset a mere 8 hours but i do have many thoughts on this headset. So the first time i tried to hook it up to my pc, i had some major driver problems which at first, i blamed on the headset although it turned out to be the sound card i had. But then for a while my pc would blue screen every time the headset was unplugged. No idea why, but that’s no longer an issue either. Another problem i had at first was that the mic would just playback the pc audio for some reason and only one of the headset speakers would work. Again, this is a problem you might have but for whatever reason, mine has stopped doing that. With regards to the sound quality, it’s good. It’s not amazing my any means, my primary headset are the corsair vengeance 2000’s and in comparison, the corsair headset blows this out the water, however, the sound is perfectly acceptable on this headset. The only major complaint about the sound is that it’s extremely bass heavy like any gaming headset. All i can suggest is altering your eq settings if possible to correct this.
They are very comfortable i am able to wear them for a great deal of time and not have them hurt. The ear cups are also breathable so you ears do not get to hot or sweaty like on other headsets. The sound is great and they have a decent level of noise reduction form outside. I often find people have to tap me on the shoulder to get my attention when i have them on. As for the colour if you are looking for something that is garish but stands out in a crowd, these are the headphones for you my friend. Would highly recommend to anyone. Only downside is the prize which is a bit more than i would expect. But you are paying for the brand on that one. Still worth it in my opinion.
If you know anything about razer gaming gear you will know it is pretty good but can be pricey. This is a basic entry level headset. Despite this sound quality and microphone pickup is good. It feels a quality unit and unlike some headsets doesn’t rattle too much nor is it too heavy in extended use. Downsides are, it does not offer surround sound (not going to find that feature at this price level anyway in fairness) and there is no in line volume control, which is the only reason i didn’t rate it with 5 stars. For the more expert or concerning user though, you can move up to the next model above from razer.
I would recommend this headset to anyone. The microphone is lacking but usable. The sound is great for anything from rap, to rock and to electric beat music. It’s also perfect for csgo because the surround sound 7. 1 actually works really well for it. I also love the fact that it isn’t a usb connector, it’s the standard headphone jack. Meaning i can plug it into my nt-usb condenser microphone.
Razer kraken analog music and gaming headphones – e-panda hooligan editioni had been looking for some headphones for quite a while and i was just browsing these and found a pair for £35 used but to be honest these where brand new not a mark on them and sealed in a perfect box. I decided not getting the 7. 1 with mic, as listening to other people, the quality was quite poor, plus i use a blue yeti as my personal microphone also razer’s own software lets you use simulated 7. Sound – not the best sound you will ever hear. The same as beats technical wise (20 – 20,000 hz freq, 40 mm driver) the lows are very good, highs not the best but sufficient, you not going to notice much different to other headphones if your listening anything over youtube or watching a stream, but playing games, movies or lossless music you defiantly will. Look and feel – very soft padding around the ear cups, i can last around 5-8 hr before having to change to a different type of headphone, maybe my ears are bigger then normals people but after a while, the ear parts closer to my face start to hurt and i need to take an hours break, i think if they didn’t press on my head that much this problem could have been solved. The good news is that they feel really solid and i don’t think they will break any time soon. The wire is one of the things i love. 2m for when you need to move around your room without taking them off. Overall – if you get them for a good price buy them, do not pay full price, this is typical of any razer product. Would have loved to see a bag included with them as i’v bought headphones that cost £30 and come with a bag.
I managed to get these for £42 from amazon. They perform as well, if not better than my dre beats which cost £100+. They’re super comfortable but quite large, i wouldn’t wear them outside as you’d look a bit silly. The bright colours are very cool but i’m not sure they’re worth the extra money. If you’re buying these to play online with friends, i would recommend getting the microphone version.
The headset is not that bad but, the mic is not very good at all and the extension wires that came with the headset made it have an annoying buzz that would only stop when you unplugged the headset, would recommend to people if they already had a mic and there pc was not to far away from their deskupdate. The buzzing sound was from the psu and it fixed it completely, this made the mic better but not great. If you just want to game and talk to people on skype it is fine but, if you want to use it to record don’t bother. It is one of the worst mics at the moment. The sound quality however is one of the best. Don’t buy if you want to record. Use generic head phones and buy a blue snowball if you record.
These are great for the price, the build quality is good, however it is a shame that the wire isn’t detachable. The reason i gave these 4 stars was because the bass is very heavy which leaves the highs not as crisp as i would like but that seems to be the way with premium headphones. I installed an equalizer and they sound much better. Also the earcups are a pain to get on and off.
I bought these headphones on sale on black friday 2014, and i have been using them for several weeks now. These headphones are just what i expected from razer: excellent sound and very comfortable while wearing. I wanted some headphones that i could use both while gaming and listening to music, and once i saw these on sale i knew i should give them a try. They give deep and impressive sound while playing a game, and the sound leakage is not too great at normal volumes. They offer the same rich sound quality and while listening to music. These headphones are well made and do not appear like they can be broken easily. They are also made from quality material that allows for comfort when wearing and can result in long listening sessions without any problems. Highly recommend these headphones to anyone looking for a great item both for music and gaming :).
I have recently switched to this headset and i can recommend them highly. Pros-have good audio qualitycome with razer surroundis well built and the materials used are of a high qualitygood long cable ideal for having all wires hidcons -i personal had to use a external sound card to stop echoing in the microphonewas a little annoying to set up razer surroundwas uncomfortable to wear for a long but now they are conformable after wearing for around a monthall in all a good choice if you have the money.
I’ve had these headphones for almost year and a half and they are still going strong. No hiccups or faults or anything of that nature. Pros:- the headphones are extremely comfortable to wear. – the sound quality is really good and you do get sucked into them when playing music or audio somewhat loud. – they look really cool and fashionable but they do look a bit big on your head. – the pull-out microphone feature is very handy when you want to use it for just music as it is very well concealed. 3m cord is easily enough and even more than you’ll need to attach to your portable device or pc/laptop. – having one connector that provides audio to both cups is less hassle than other headphones. – like i said, i’ve has them for a long time and they are very durable and also moderately portable as you can fold them in.
5 out of 5 for looks (forged edition) however, i have 2 gripes with them. The sound is muddy and too bass orientated, and this comes from someone who loves nothing better than loads of bass. My other problem concerns fit. The angle of adjustment on the earpieces is insufficient insofar as they provide a good seal at the bottom of my ears but not on the top of my ears. Which i hope is due to a design fault in the headphones and not the shape of my head :-(.
