I bought these to replace the philips shp2500 headphones id been using for over 10 years. They still worked great, but i felt it was time i desperately needed an upgrade. I am not very tech savvy so after some fiddling about with the settings on my computer i finally got them to work and wow, the quality on these were amazingit felt like id been listening to games half deaf, ive always had my pc on the highest volume but now i never need to surpass 15% and it feels like im in the game itselfthe colour is really the only gripe i have, its not really the bumblebee yellow it is in the picture but more a high vis jacket yellow. I dont really mind, and doesnt take away from its lovely look, just a little deceiving. As for the comfort, most of the time i have been wearing these for hours at a time and they still remain comfortable, to the point i forget im wearing them half the time. The ear cups seem to have a slight suction when you take them off, which i guess is intentional to help iliminate outside noise when on, which it does extremely wellthe mic ive only used once, and was told i sounded quite loud but very clear. However i completely put this down to my own mistakes on setting it up and not moving the mic further away enough from the headset.
5 out of 5 for looks (forged edition) however, i have 2 gripes with them. The sound is muddy and too bass orientated, and this comes from someone who loves nothing better than loads of bass. My other problem concerns fit. The angle of adjustment on the earpieces is insufficient insofar as they provide a good seal at the bottom of my ears but not on the top of my ears. Which i hope is due to a design fault in the headphones and not the shape of my head :-(.

After my turtle beach x12’s had finally packed in from a broken hinge and the audio from the right hand side had completely gone it was safe to say a new headset was in order. Disappointed by the build quality of the x12’s i decided to go for a higher price headset in hope that the extra money for a premium piece of kit i’d hope to get much better build quality and with the choice of the razer kraken pro i feel that they will last me much longer. So as it being a razer product your going to get some snazzy packaging and il be honest i was dead excited when i got it, i’ve always wanted to get a bit of kit from razer and see what the craze is about though i did honestly think my first bit of kit was going to be the tartarus but needs a must. I have read reviews or watched unboxings of this headset and have had trouble with the packaging and really i took my time trying not to damage the box and i believed it was fairly easy to open to be honest, getting the headset out of the lil box with the plastic holder was annoying i will admit however though done undamaged.Along with the headset you’ll get razer documentation as you always with their products and also a nice lil razer sticker. With it being a razer product you can rely on it to be a premium piece of kit and built to last. Through consideration my headset needed to be comfortable to wear, better quality and no usb power required (the x12’s would cause an awful buzzing noise that could annoy yourself and those on the other end of the call) that aside i can say the razer kraken does exactly as i want it too. The hinges which was my main concern this time round, considering the ear cups can actually fold in for easier transport i dont think ill have the same worry compared to my x12’s. ‘the most comfiest headset ever’ such a line that really i dont think can be proven.
Got these just today, and the product was a little less to what i expected. Pro’s:- sound quality – pretty good to be honest, music sounds great through them. I’m no expert, but the clarity and depth was definitely there- noise isolation – does that job fairly well thanks to the almost abnormal amount of padding covering the product- looks – sort of iffy to be honest; razer products most always look awesome, but the kraken’s are a little large on the earcups and headband so to say. People say the green pair look like it was bought from a toy store, not my opinion but i can see why- comfort – thanks to the padding provide a fairly comfortable fit, earcups and headband definitely with extortionate cushion. Could see myself wearing on a long haul flightcon’s:- comfort can be argued to become suffocating; the headband feels like it clamps to your head making usage fairly uncomfortable after a while, not helped by the earcups warming your ears to such an extent that you want to take them off- on that note, wearing them around your neck is fairly uncomfortable (unless you have a fairly long neck) if you like to do so as of the incredibly large drivers pressing against your mouth even- it’s a matter of preference whether you like incredibly bulky headphones or not, but as a result weigh your head down, which doesn’t help if you already have pains in your neck at points to start with, and prevents sufficient long term usagei wouldn’t say these headphones are awful, but they aren’t great either in my opinion. I think i was a little more compelled by that luring razer branding that’s so attractive and well designed, which put me into buying headphones which i didn’t actually like. Suggest you think about whether you’re buying for the use or the label before purchase.
I have recently switched to this headset and i can recommend them highly. Pros-have good audio qualitycome with razer surroundis well built and the materials used are of a high qualitygood long cable ideal for having all wires hidcons -i personal had to use a external sound card to stop echoing in the microphonewas a little annoying to set up razer surroundwas uncomfortable to wear for a long but now they are conformable after wearing for around a monthall in all a good choice if you have the money.
Razer Kraken Forged Music and Gaming Headphones with Inline Microphone : The razer kraken pro (green) headset is such an amazing headset to buy. I can see why pewdiepie, rooster teeth/ achievement hunter and people like them use them all the time for gaming and editing. Honestly i use these for the bus journeys into college by listening to music on my phone and they give out such an amazing sound quality and they don’t actually ‘leak’ sound that much. What i mean by this is that i can have the headphones at a sorta loud volume and the people around me can hardly hear the music i am listening to. Apart from when i take them off and hang them around my neck. Then people can hear what i am listening to of course. Using these for listening to music, playing games with on consoles and editing videos with them is such an amazing experience as you can really hear every soundworth the £65 i paid for them at christmas time.
I spent a good while looking for a set of headphones that would provide great sound with a good build for a affordable budget. I bought these and i can honestly wholeheartedly say they are amazing. The sound is perfect, the product is strong, well made and the ear pads are soft. Some headphones fit awkwardly on my head even with adjusting, these are perfect and i will be recommending them to everyone. I am a gamer, i listen to music and i skype call daily and these have improved my experience massively. I am very happy and very proud to own a pair. The packaging was of great quality and sizeable for storage if needed, it includes an extension cable which is a lovely addition as the typical cables aren’t always long enough. All round great product which i am yet to find a fault.
Audio is extremely good, however the mic can play up. You are either too loud or too quiet, quality isnt that great on the recipient’s end. Extremely heavy on the head so can’t use for long.
Headphone cable does a good job. Retractable mic goes all the way in which is cool. Underneath the orange paint, there’s white plastic. The paint isn’t the most durable but it is still really good. As the user of many headsets i must say that the bass is very loud and sometimes i wish there was less of it (e. When i’m shooting in cod it masks other small noises made by enemy). With the phone they play quite loud, but to unleash their full potential use 7.
The headset is not that bad but, the mic is not very good at all and the extension wires that came with the headset made it have an annoying buzz that would only stop when you unplugged the headset, would recommend to people if they already had a mic and there pc was not to far away from their deskupdate. The buzzing sound was from the psu and it fixed it completely, this made the mic better but not great. If you just want to game and talk to people on skype it is fine but, if you want to use it to record don’t bother. It is one of the worst mics at the moment. The sound quality however is one of the best. Don’t buy if you want to record. Use generic head phones and buy a blue snowball if you record.
Easiest way to describe this headset is extreme bass. Like for anyone who loves bass this headset is the best one i’ve used in terms of bass it is amazing. The feeling when my ears are shaking for me is just the bestthe headset is great for gaming and even listening to music. I’ve used the headset for 3 months now and i’m very pleased with them. Even though these are from a gaming brand i would choose them over a pair of sony, beats or even bose headphones for music. I owned a pair of bose headphones not too long ago and these wipe the floor with them and they were £89. 99they are very comfortable to wear for a couple hours at a time for me then start to get uncomfortable. The headset isn’t that heavy and the ear cups are very soft but after using them for a gaming session around 5/6 hours long around the 4 hour mark they started to get uncomfortable and i had to take them off for a few minuets. The only problem i had with them was the comfort after a few hours and is quite a bit of of noise leakage when on max volume.
It’s great quality an all, great for gaming. But it’s just a bit too tight on my nuggin. I don’t even have a massive heed. I’m 5’6′ and my head is kinda egg shapped. It shouldn’t feel this tight. Have to take it off after an hour or two and put my head in warm soapy water. Appart from that, it’s awesome.
I bought these headphones on sale on black friday 2014, and i have been using them for several weeks now. These headphones are just what i expected from razer: excellent sound and very comfortable while wearing. I wanted some headphones that i could use both while gaming and listening to music, and once i saw these on sale i knew i should give them a try. They give deep and impressive sound while playing a game, and the sound leakage is not too great at normal volumes. They offer the same rich sound quality and while listening to music. These headphones are well made and do not appear like they can be broken easily. They are also made from quality material that allows for comfort when wearing and can result in long listening sessions without any problems. Highly recommend these headphones to anyone looking for a great item both for music and gaming :).
I ordered this (via amazon warehouse deals) and it arrived fine, with a refurbished box as the description said. I unboxed the headset, plugged it in and began to use it. First off, once configured with razer synapse 2. 0, the sound quality is very good. I wouldn’t call it great (especially as i also have a razer carcharias, which outclasses the kraken in sound quality). That, unfortunately, is where the pros end, and the cons begin. Following the calibration with synapse, i decided to test the mic’s capabilities. Using the skype echo test service, i discovered that the microphone was picking up so little of my voice, that it was near enough not picking it up at all. I’m not sure whether this is a flaw with all razer kraken headsets (at least the analog ones) or whether it was just that i happened to get a dodgy bit of kit. Regardless, this experience has swayed me away from recommending that people buy the razer kraken.
I bough this headset about 2 weeks ago so i’ve got some decent experience with it now. Setup: 5/5my favorite thing about it is the simplicity, just a 3. 5 mic cable coming out of it, super easy to set up. Gaming: 5/5i’ve mostly been playing cod and fallout since i got the headset. It’s fairly easy to get an idea about where footsteps/gunfire are coming from in cod, the bass is great so for games with a lot of explosions and planes the headset lends a very immerse experience. Fallout also sounds great, the voices are clear and and depth, and the ambient sound track plays well through the headset. Music: 3/5this is the headsets one weakness in my opinion – the bass is overpowering with the mids being overly muffled. Sounds like your listening through a pillow. It’s not bad by any means, but if your going to be listening to a lot of music and require good sound accuracy then this might not be for you.
So i’ve had the headset a mere 8 hours but i do have many thoughts on this headset. So the first time i tried to hook it up to my pc, i had some major driver problems which at first, i blamed on the headset although it turned out to be the sound card i had. But then for a while my pc would blue screen every time the headset was unplugged. No idea why, but that’s no longer an issue either. Another problem i had at first was that the mic would just playback the pc audio for some reason and only one of the headset speakers would work. Again, this is a problem you might have but for whatever reason, mine has stopped doing that. With regards to the sound quality, it’s good. It’s not amazing my any means, my primary headset are the corsair vengeance 2000’s and in comparison, the corsair headset blows this out the water, however, the sound is perfectly acceptable on this headset. The only major complaint about the sound is that it’s extremely bass heavy like any gaming headset. All i can suggest is altering your eq settings if possible to correct this.
Comfortable even when playing all day, mic is good, sound is clear and all in all perfect gaming headset. Only slight irk is there is no way of turning the mic off whilst using the headset so if you have it plugged into a console controller, be prepared for any recording or online game to pick up your breathing, coughing ect.
So, had my set just over a year of long use. At first i did not like the lack of a volume/mid control on a reasonably midrange set. It was like a vice on my head but. New headset so i overlooked that. Audio was nice and clear and once it stopped trying to crush my head was very comfortable. Over the year however problems have cropped up making it a pain in the backside the headset has been looked after and not thrown around, bit disappointed will probably look to other manufacturers for a new set. Fabric on the cups have split allowing the foam to come out,the audio cuts out on the cups, left hand one 90% of the time doesn’t work without moving the headset around. Left hand cup joint plastic has snapped, headband fabric has pulled away from the plastic grips and the foam inside has come out, rubber around the wire onto the headset snapped off also. Mic works fine still but as a headset it is irritating and practically useless as it is now.
If you know anything about razer gaming gear you will know it is pretty good but can be pricey. This is a basic entry level headset. Despite this sound quality and microphone pickup is good. It feels a quality unit and unlike some headsets doesn’t rattle too much nor is it too heavy in extended use. Downsides are, it does not offer surround sound (not going to find that feature at this price level anyway in fairness) and there is no in line volume control, which is the only reason i didn’t rate it with 5 stars. For the more expert or concerning user though, you can move up to the next model above from razer.
I would recommend this headset to anyone. The microphone is lacking but usable. The sound is great for anything from rap, to rock and to electric beat music. It’s also perfect for csgo because the surround sound 7. 1 actually works really well for it. I also love the fact that it isn’t a usb connector, it’s the standard headphone jack. Meaning i can plug it into my nt-usb condenser microphone.
Great product, had watched these for a while, as i needed a new pair of headphones, but wasn’t in a rush to get them, so jumped in over the black friday flash sales. Couldn’t ask for more really, the sound quality is good, they block background noise very well, comes with a pretty long extension cable allowing me to easily connect them to 2 devices without having to fumble around trying to find the sockets every time. Packaged well, and delivered on time as well.
With the razer sorround software it works like a 7. 1 headsetit’s awesome when you hear something behind you and it was really coming from behind you. It does not come with a volume button nor a mic (there is the pro version for that, so that’s not a minus). 5 jack extender came with it and it is the best extra i’ve ever receivedso much better than a long cablefor the streets the standard cable length is enough. And when you are using it at home and plug it into a sound system that’s not necceseraly near you, you can use it. It is comfortable and i can use it for a whole a day without any backdraw. (sometimes at weekends i’ve the whole day for myself, meaning 10 am to next day 2 am)has great bass and so far endured the everyday torture that is i’m using it. Bought it at black friday so the price was good, otherwise it would be pricey.
