I have quite a few pairs of headphones now. I am no audiophile, but listen to music on my daily commute. So i am looking for something robust, that doesn’t leak noise and sounds good. These seem to tick all of those boxes. The two i’d compare them to are my sennheiser hd 228 closed back on ear stereo headphones – black and panasonic rp-htx7ae-a lightweight retro style monitor headphone with single side cord & one side monitoring system- blue. These sit between the two in terms of sound quality. The design is fine – they seem to have tried for a retro futurism. Not sure about the clear plastic and how robust that will be, but let’s see. There are two cables rather than one. I have got so used to just have a cable going to one ear phone that i was surprised at how annoying i now find two.
My 16 year old thanks these headphones are ‘awesome’ and i believe that is praise indeed. She can play her music loud ( and she does like it loud) whilst i listen to a more sedate radio 2, without me hearing the tinny noise overspill from her usual headset. There is very little sound from them externally, which makes them a good choice for public places too. The sound when wearing them is clear and sparkling, with a nice deep base. I prefer them for the spoken word, but she prefers them for music. The headphones are comfortable to wear, and neat in design. They adjust very securely, and feel solid but light. They also appear to be fairly resilient, given the intensive use they have had so farmy only criticism is the truly frustrating and unnecessary packaging they come in – plastic, card, and plenty of it. Perhaps a thought could have been given to this?.And a travelling pouch/ case would have been nice for storage or travel.
Bought these for my 7 year old. They are a tad big, but no doubt not for long. They are comfortale and have a fair sound for the price.
These headphones are super comfortable – like having puppies nestling against your ears. I use them on my daily commute and i particularly like the way they block out enough external noise so i can listen to podcasts while walking down a busy street without having to turn up the volume too much. They look attractive and feel robust. Sound quality is the highest priority, and here these headphones score highly.
Maybe they are bigger than i thought. I thought this part should be metal.
Great value for money, with plenty of range.
The first thing you notice about these headphones is that they look superb – just look at them. Well, maybe not the white ones – they look awful. But the black, red and silver look very striking and modern – but with that retro appeal which is all the rage these days. Of course looking cool is one thing, but quality is another – but thankfully these cut the mustard. The audio quality is very good, not as good as a pair of expensive senheisser `phones, but these are mid-range headphones rather than deluxe uber-expensive ones. They feel very comfortable too, that red strip inside the headband is a rubberised foam which cushions them nicely on the head and helps prevent them slipping. The ear pieces are sumptuously soft and although these aren’t advertised as noise cancelling – they do a pretty good job of both blocking out outside noise and preventing leakage of sound. The silver casing has a matt feel and may scratch (it’s plastic, not metal) but they feel sturdy enough to outlive some other pairs i’ve had in the past. The in-line mic is tidy and not a huge affair. I’ve not used it much but when i have, the caller on the other end has heard me clearly – so i’m happy that does the job.
Great product as always with panasonic and super delivery.
Looks very good, fits my head well and is very comfortable. Good sound compared to most other sub £50 units.
The first thing i noticed about this heaphones is how light and comfortable they are when you wear them. The sound quality is very good but not the best compared to a £100 high spec model. The volume control is easy to use and adjust. I feel these headphones seat in a middle price range in the market regarding quality of sound but their main appeal is how light and comfortable they are.
Cracking set of headphones really do cut out background noise.
Excellent and extremely good value for the price.
Was very surprised that such a cheap headphone can produce such crip and bassy sounds.
I have had many headphone over the years including various models from sennheiser, akg, sony, bose etc, costing a lot more than the panasonic headphones. I am so pleased the panasonics are as good if not better than majority i have had, they are open, natural sounding, with lots of detail and spatial effects are great, what i find very impressive is the vocal sounds, very enjoyable to listen to. They are great for i pad games also being very light weight and comfortable, i forgot i was wearing them after a while great value, solid build i’m sure they will last for a while.
