I’ve used these for more than a year of commuting now and i actually enjoy the commute, or even running, because of them. They isolate the sound so that those around me don’t know what i’m listening to, but if someone talks to me, i can hear what they’re saying. In summer, they can be a little warm but not so warm that i want to take them off. In winter, they’re a god-send. They do a great job of getting the best audio quality out of my phone, especially if the recordings are good. Ok, my grado phones sound slightly better but they’re a lot less practical. They’re much cheaper and actually better with my phone than the higher end sennheisers i borrowed. I found the supplied cable a bit annoying but i bought a coiled replacement, with mike, that was much shorter so that there was no annoying dangling loop to my pocket. Cost me about £5 and with some trimming of the plug now fits perfectly.

Was a little disappointed with the quality of the reproduction.

I bought these as a pair of reference quality studio headphones, based on various reviews that i had read. I had never really heard of this brand before, even though they have been around for decades, so this was sort of a risky purchase from my perspective. The main purpose of these headphones, for me, is for critical listening of audio mixes, and i think that they do this job amazingly well. If a mix is great, it will sound amazing on these headphones, but if it isn’t, they really show up the troublesome areas. For mixing/mastering this is incredibly handy as they will definitely assist you in getting a great mix that translates well to all devices (in my experience). The sound is very balanced and neutral, only reproducing what in there. If you are referencing a mix on this and it sounds great, you can be confident that it will sound great on just about anythingthe build quality is also very nice, and the phones come in a rigid, zippable, canvas(?) case to keep them safe when travelling or not in use. The only negative that i have is the supplied cable, which is the ‘curly’ type and i found that it got in the way a bit and wasn’t that practical. Thankfully it is detachable and can be easily replaced. Another cool feature is that you can attach the cable to either ear of the phones.

Good sound, headband is a little creaky though comfortable, left ear input socket has gone a bit crackly, right side is ok, nice case.

Though i am no audiophile, i think these are brilliant. Clear and neutral sounding to me and excellent quality.

Koss pro4s, i love these headphones, i’m realy rediscovering my music all over again, i cant rate this high enough. The sound is realy lifted and seperated and crisp, i allso like the fact you can plug the lead in to left or right headcan and the other one becomes a daisy chain for someone eles to plug in and join in to what your listning too, just tryed that and no loss or cange for me. I did not want headphones that had exta base that would cange or dictate how i listern, i like to do that at souce. For me these fitted the reqoirement perfectly. So i have purchased two pairs. Plus totallygadgets who surplyed them where fist class to deal with [a thank you to tyla] alovely change from a lot of firms apathy youget. Will use and recommend totallygadgets again 100%.

I took a chance on these after reading a superlative review on the hi end us mag absolute sounds, which actually reviews products only on quality not cost ( unlike most uk hi fi mags) i currently own closed back planar magnetic headphones that are true hi end and cost several hundred pounds. The koss’s unbelievably have absolutely better sound quality – more neutral, more refined and with much better bass. Being professional headphones they take no prisoners with recordings. Great sounds great, poor sounds poor. I use them with an audiophile teac reference headphone amp, but their low ohm (35) means they could be used with portable players. 5m curly lead which is only suitable for portable players, for serious hi end kit you will need a longer straight cable of decent quality. You can find these reasonably priced on ebay as they have the same 3. 5mm fitting as the philips fidelio range. If you like jazz rock a la return to forever they are the headphone of choice, but all other genres sound very accurate when used with top quality ancillaries.
