HiFiMAN HE400S Over Ear Full-Size Planar Magnetic Headphone, These are good. Do take note though about bass comments

4 & 50 percent stars, soundstage is thourgh- suitable up to the restrict.

Perfectly, to start with all i will say is this. These are the finest headphones i’ve ever heard. They are only superb. A very simple style, pretty mild, very comfy. The headband does it is occupation, but it is a bit on the cheaper come to feel, as are the sizing changes. But it really is however acquired a pleasant sense to it and the headband and adjustment work incredibly nicely. They go over ear just fantastic and i never after struggle with them slipping off or slipping. They ended up a little bit heat at first but it passes pretty swiftly.

I have owned these headphones for nearly a 7 days now, as hifiman advisable they need a truthful bit of use (one hundred fifty hrs) in advance of reaching optimum seem high-quality i have attempted to accelerate this by leaving them taking part in overnight each individual evening considering the fact that i bought them, i estimate they have had about 60 hrs use and they by now sound fabulous, strait out of the box they did seem a little slim but that failed to very last very long and undoubtedly in the very last working day or so they audio very whole bodied and open up sounding with wonderful clarity and with a large 3d soundstage in which each and every individual voice or instrument can be localised in house, very well recorded songs of nearly any style is just breathtaking. They are rather sensitive for planar magnetic phones, my ipad drives them to a excellent stage at 70-80% of entire volume. Even though they audio excellent pushed in this way they actually occur alive driven by a excellent headphone amp, i use an askewlabs cmoy moveable amp which fits it truly properly. I have a pal who is a headphone addict and has paid thousands for a pair of headphones, these give 90%+ of the top quality of the leading flight at a fraction of the cost, hugely advised.

These headphones are the ideal headphones i have ever owned. Pretty comfortable and with the emphasis pads offers a little bit much more bass. Also that entire ‘burn in’ detail seems to do the job as it sounded better following a handful of hrs of playing.

Paired with a little dot one+ these items seem totally unbelievable.

HIFIMAN HE400S Over Ear Full-Size Planar Magnetic Headphone : Fantastic headphones, i did a lot of research before purchasing these and for the price they are amazing. Super comfortable to wear and they sound great with most audio sources, but are really intended for playing lossless files from a decent source. That said they can still be used with a smartphone without an amp, but if that’s all you plan on using them for there are other smaller and cheaper headphones which will probably do the job just as well.

This is my first set of open back headphones which i actually purchased for myself. I’ve tried many other likes of sennheiser hd600 or philips x2 fidelio. I prefer the he-400s over both of those. Things to note, the build quality isn’t amazing, i was however expecting that due to the price to performance of those. Some people complain about the bass, you should replace the stock pads with “brainwavz angled memory foam earpad” (does require to break the default pads to get the mounting plastic) straight away. The difference is huge, the bass really comes to life, it’s dynamic and great. The rest of the sound signature stays the same. I recommend about 40-60h burn in to get the most out of them.

Well, to start with all i will say is this. These are the best headphones i’ve ever heard. They are simply outstanding. A simple design, very light, very comfy. The headband does it’s job, but it is slightly on the cheaper feel, as are the size adjustments. But it’s still got a nice feel to it and the headband and adjustment work very well. They go over ear just perfect and i never once struggle with them falling off or slipping. They were a bit warm at first but it passes very quickly.

I have owned the sennheiser hd600, hifiman he400i and philips fidelio x2. This is better than all of those headphones. When i listen to some female vocals with these i get goosebumps that are missing with a lot of the other headhones i have tried. Bass is also good but not excessive. They have slightly more bass than the he400i. You can comfortably wear these for a long time.

Do take note though about bass comments. If you want that deep boom these are not going to do that. Vocals are great, and very good range of instruments can he heard. I’m going to try the focus pads as suggested for the base to see if it makes any difference. S don’t take the comment as lack of bass its just not the deep bass you may be used to with external speakers.

These headphones are the best headphones i’ve ever owned. Very comfy and with the focus pads gives a bit more bass. Also that whole ‘burn in’ thing seems to work as it sounded better after a few hours of playing.

The sound they produce is detailed, rich and warm. However i’ve compared them to some sennheisers which are cheaper like the 598 and 609 but i wouldn’t say these sounded better for the extra cost. The build quality is a bit cheap due to the shiny silver plastic. You can see in the picture what the plastic looks like, it’s very accurate and true to life. I’d recommend testing our some cheap sennheisers before getting these. You might prefer the sound quality and build for the price.

I have owned these headphones for almost a week now, as hifiman recommended they need a fair bit of use (150 hours) before reaching optimum sound quality i have tried to accelerate this by leaving them playing overnight every night since i got them, i estimate they have had about 60 hours use and they already sound fabulous, strait out of the box they did sound slightly thin but that didn’t last long and certainly in the last day or so they sound very full bodied and open sounding with superb clarity and with a massive 3d soundstage in which each individual voice or instrument can be localised in space, well recorded music of virtually any genre is just breathtaking. They are quite sensitive for planar magnetic phones, my ipad drives them to a good level at 70-80% of full volume. Although they sound good driven in this way they really come alive driven by a good headphone amp, i use an askewlabs cmoy portable amp which suits it really well. I have a friend who is a headphone addict and has paid thousands for a pair of headphones, these give 90%+ of the quality of the top flight at a fraction of the cost, highly recommended.

Nice sound from these headphones, not totally neutral but very pleasantly tuned near to neutral for you to enjoy the music through a good solid state dac/amp. They adapt well to the warmth and slight distortion of a tube amp too, i am quite enjoying these and they will stay in my collection. I did find the sound went from good to excellent using the hifiman focuspad in a leather/velour fabric rather than the stock pads. Good cable but it is a tad stiff and a little short. A good few hours ‘burn in’ is recommended to open up the sound on these but you will be rewarded for your patience.
